With the help of the American History 2000-2012 visual timeline, we can easily see how Mainstream Media has been purposefully dividing us through images that subconsciously instill fear. Once we recognize this, we can begin to appreciate our diversities, while discovering our similarities, & focus on what Unites us as American's & Citizens of this Earth.
We hope to take this information forward, shifting our focus towards collectively supporting the interests of people (rather than corporate America), and make conscious decisions based on the wellbeing and genuine strength of this planet, all living beings, and future generations to come.
American History 2000 - 2012 has grown into This Unites Us. Taking this large body of artwork on the road we needed to bring forward a positive interpretation of who, we, as American citizens are. This inspired us to ask our viewers the question “What do we have in common?”. VIA Facebook, Instagram, twitter and our website we respond our findings.
Taking it to the streets asking the question “What do we have in common?” has given us a lot of material to work with. We want to share past, present and future stories.
This historical art presentation tells our history captured by significant images and words we saw VIA mainstream media during the first 13 years of this 21st Century. There are fourteen collages, one panel per year starting with 2000 and ending with 2012. The fourteenth panel is called the “Grid”. The “Grid” shows statistical information about what happened to the American people.
